Please welcome, culottes- your favorite essentials to wear in 2018. These bottoms were seen everywhere last year, that’s why it’s no shock to see them on the streets of big cities this spring and summer season. Why culottes? Personally, I call them cropped wide-leg pants. Indeed, the length of such trousers hits the calf or a bit lower. They’ve got a very retro-inspired look and feel. Most women avoid these styles, believe me, once you know how to wear them in real life, you gonna use them every day. Keep on reading to find my favorite ways on how to wear culottes.
The first styles I wanted to mention are denim culottes. These bottoms are appropriate for sporting with your favorite street style tops. This is a perfect choice for women who want to show-off their individuality and edgy spirit. Try them on with simple tees and basic shirts. For instance, try on a solid white color shirt and tuck it in your favorite denim culottes completed with cuffed pointed-toe toe cream-white shoes. If you are a petite girl, then you should wear culottes styled with heels (to boost your height). Avoid baggy styles, otherwise, you can look weird and shorter. Be sure to try monochromatic outfits. This will enhance your height and make you look taller and slimmer. Personally, I wear black color looks. Often, culottes are made of stiff fabric that gives culottes a more defined shape and abstract silhouette. If you want to make them look flirty and girlish, then you better buy the ones made of lightweight and airy fabrics. I recommend to try on lightweight culottes and pair them with structured top or blazer. The geometrically shaped topper will avoid sloppy look. Most stylists advise us to start from solid color culottes. The plain colored bottoms are very easy to style, as you can wear them with one color top or keep things brighter by sporting colorful print blouse or shirt. Speaking of prints, then you can make things look wild and bold by wearing printed culottes. They do look great, but you should be bold enough to give them a try. I do love to see ladies wearing matching print top and culottes, this makes it look like a stylish jumpsuit.
