Most people associate polka dots with retro fashion. I guess it’s all because of Minnie Mouse, LOL. Anyway, today’s post is dedicated to my favorite ways on how to wear polka dots and look modern this year. Indeed, I see lots of ladies nowadays who appear on the streets wearing polka dots modernly. It feels like I am on some kind of runway show, as every outfit completed with polka dots looks really awesome and unique. If you do want to have a unique and chic spin on this classic pattern, then I am here to share with you my favorite ways how to wear polka dots modernly. Read on to find my favorite tips and tricks to make polka dots look awesome on you.
First of all, you should consider how big you want polka dots to be. For example, randomly placed polka dots look great on billowing and loose-fit garments, while small dots that are perfectly lined look best on polished and fitted looks. Next thing is the color choice. We all know timeless classics, like black dots on white background, or white dots on black background. Well, you can always experiment with your outfit, if you want to keep your outfit look modern. For instance, try on white dots on a red background, black dots on sheer fabric, gold or silver dots on white background, etc. As I have already mentioned, you can try on sheer garments completed with black dots. The result gonna look insanely hot. For instance, try on LBD with sheer cuts completed with black polka dots, or buy yourself a stylish black sheer blouse fully covered in black polka dots. The result gonna look chic, sexy and sophisticated. The rest of your outfit should be simple and classy. If you are bold enough, then how about pairing polka dots with polka dots. This teaming is a perfect way to underline your individuality and let everyone know that you do like polka dots. You can either pair the same scale dots in different colors or keep things creative by wearing various size dots in the same color, so your outfit looks balanced. For example, you can wear a light color scarf in white polka dots by pairing it with a dark color blouse with white polka dots. I love to see gals who appear in black shirts with white polka dots tucked in high-rise white full skirts in black polka dots. Speaking of jewelry, then my personal advice is to choose pearls instead of metallic chunky jewelry. If you think your polka dot shirt looks too much vibrant, then how about topping it off with a dark solid color blazer. This pairing will tone down polka dots. But if you want your polka dots to stand out from the crowd, then you better go for a bright color blazer. By the way, you can pair polka dots with other prints, like stripes, tropical prints, plaids, etc. All you need is to choose which one of these prints you want to stand out.
